Hogeschool Leiden is a medium-sized University of Applied Sciences with approximately 6,700 students and 700 employees.
The Hogeschool encourages and supports students to develop their knowledge and skills in order to prepare them for their future careers.
The Hogeschool provides education which makes a difference. Passion, talent and human standards are important values to us. Hogeschool Leiden offers attention to individual students, believes in open communication and focuses on practical training.

International Activities

Internationalisation of education is one of our ambitions. As participant in the Lifelong Learning Programme, Hogeschool Leiden cooperates with some 30 institutions for higher education throughout Europe. Students from foreign education institutions with which we cooperate are welcome at Hogeschool Leiden to participate in our English minors.

Our institution is a centre of expertise with regard to projects in the field of development cooperation.
Since 1995 we have been active in a variety of countries, including Guatemala, Uganda, South Africa and Ghana. We cooperate with education institutions in these countries and other consortium partners in "training-the-trainers", thus strengthening and building capacity in education.

Our Faculties and Programmes

Hogeschool Leiden offers Bachelor Programmes, Master Programmes, Postgraduate Programmes, Associate Degree Programmes and trainings in five faculties:

Faculty of Education
Faculty of Management and Business
Faculty of Technology

Applied Research

Hogeschool Leiden has 7 lectors. These lectors occupy chairs at our University of Applied Sciences and are at the centre of a network called kenniskring. Our lectors are conducting applied research in a specific area of expertise and maintain contacts within the relevant branch of business or industry. The areas of expertise of our 7 lectors are Anthroposophical Health Care, Education, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, Innovative Molecular Diagnostics, Youth Care and Youth Policy, People with Chronic Illnesses and Future Research in ICT.
